WNE LONDON EVENING, 26/10/2017
On October 16, AIFEN organized in partnership with the French Embassy in London, the second evening of WNE’s promotion to the British nuclear industry. On this occasion, a hundred participants were invited at the Residence de France in London to discover the latest novelties of the 3rd edition that the WNE team is preparing.
Under the auspices of the French Ambassador in London, Mr Jean-Pierre Jouyet, this evening was inaugurated by Mr. François Revardeaux, Minister Counselor in London who set the tone for this event. Above all, the nuclear industry was the spotlight as these actors are initiators of projets carrying jobs & technologies and for which WNE is a unique opportunity to meet and network. Following this introduction, Gérard Kottmann, President of AIFEN and WNE, was working on the remarkable position of France and the United Kingdom who opted for nuclear energy compared to other European fossil fuel mixes and consequently the importance of UK representation for the 3rd edition of WNE.
After the presentation of the WNE 2018 innovations (and in particular the 4 spotlights SMR, Reactors of the future, Dismantling and Digitization), the promotion of WNE was particularly supported by the testimonies of three representatives of the British sector: Mr. Humphrey Cadoux-Hudson for EDF ENERGY, Mr. Tom Greatrex of the NIA and Mr. David Orr for ROLLS-ROYCE. Everyone had the opportunity to highlight the interest of their participation in WNE 2018, thus encouraging as many people as possible to participate by identifying WNE as the essential place for international meetings of the nuclear industry.
